Objectives

The main objective of Infocycle is to address the problem of the environmentally unsound management of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) in targeted geographical areas of Greece, namely the Regions of Thessaly and Epirus. Due to the nature of the problem, the solutions shall focus on changing behaviour and attitudes both of the stakeholders and the public involved. Towards this direction, Infocycle demonstrates the following objectives:

• Enhancement of public knowledge / awareness regarding hazardous substances contained in WEEE and their potential impact on environment and health, deriving from their environmentally unsound management.

• Information of the public on the environmentally sound WEEE management practices, in order to enhance the public’s participation rates and improve the quality of the collected appliances.

• Training of the stakeholders involved in the WEEE recycling and management chain.
